MELT Method: My Experience & Review

MELT Method.  Have you heard of it?  It has been gaining some momentum and publicity lately.  I hadn't heard of it, then someone mentioned it to me, then it started to pop up all over the place to a point that a coworker invited me to a studio on the same block as my office to try it out.  With it showing up so much in my life, I felt like it was a hint that this was something for me and I was so right. If this sort of thing happens to you, listen. I am so glad that I did.

MELT Method is a form of self-care using a set of specifically designed balls and a soft roller.  I had wondered if I could get them elsewhere but have yet to find any quite like the ones from MELT so I am sticking with them for now.

MELT Method is a way to treat yourself to relieve & prevent pain, heal injury, and "erase" the negative affects of aging and an active life.

Does it work?  Yes!!!! For me, this has made an incredible difference.  Since I was dealing with some serious inflammation, spasms and pain issues, I was really happy to be able to take a class and work with someone who could really make sure I was doing things right.  I attended a class once per week and bought a roller and small hand & foot treatment kit so I could do some MELT at home on my own.  I opted to do the hand & foot treatment at home and then in class we did hands, feet and lots of roller work.  This alone made me feel like I was my old self.  I felt young again.  I felt alive.  I felt like I could walk.  It was amazing.

I took the weekly class for one month with a certified MELT practitioner in my local area.  Then I got insanely busy and sadly, forgot to melt for 6 days. I lost track of time and noticed that I was starting to feel like poo.  My back and shoulders and hips all ached.  My feet hurt.  I was cranky and not sleeping as well.  Oh no...I forgot to MELT!!! So needless to say, this works for me and I have seen the difference of doing it and the difference of forgetting to do it.  I currently try to do at least the hands and feet technique at least 3 times per week and plan to start doing more moves on the roller on my own once I make sure I have a nice clear spot to put my yoga mat and safely lay down without bonking my head or arms or legs on something.

Right now I am "MELTing" on my own and plan to take a weekly advanced class in August where she is going to teach us more intermediate techniques.  I am looking forward to this because it has truly been the key to advancing my pain relief and healing after injuring my back and hips.  The timing was perfect since my chiropractor said I could be more active again but needed to keep seeing him every 3 weeks or so.  I felt so tired and sore and out of shape after not being active for so long and this is really helping me feel good so that I can be active and want to be active.
