For the first day of spring, what is more appropriate than writing about products for my springy curly hair? LOL In August I decided to try out Jessicurl while I was on the hunt for decent curly hair products that were natural. I picked up their trial/travel size Light & Luminous Collection which is intended for fine, wavy and curly hair that gets weighed down easily. I have to say that I was impressed and wanted to post an update since I have been consistently using the Jessicurl products for a while now. You can see my original post and before and after pics here: http://www.beautyaunatural.com/2012/08/jessicurl-you-have-right-to-remain-curly.html

I am loving Jessicurl! I bought all of the items from this collection in full-size when I posted my original write up in August. Since then I have ordered plenty more. I go through the Aloeba Daily conditioner, Gelebration Spray and Confident Coils Styling Solution pretty quickly. My hair loves them and drinks them right up so I am glad to be using such high quality ingredients on my hair. While my hair is fine and naturally curly, it can be hard to manage. If I don't use enough product, it can get too lightweight and fluff and fly around like baby hair, if I use too much product it can get weighed down and flat.
Right now my hair routine is to alternate between Jessicurl Gentle Lather Shampoo and a Nature's Gate Lemongrass and Clary Sage Volumizing Shampoo (if only because I still have more of the Nature's Gate Shampoo to use up). I use the Jessicurl Aloeba Daily Conditioner 6 days per week and the TooShea! Extra-Moisturizing Conditioner once per week. In the coldest winter months I switched it up and used TooShea! twice per week. Your hair should be really wet when applying the Jessicurl styling products and you shouldn't towel dry your hair unless it is microfiber. I don't bother with that and just squeeze any excess water that is too much and dripping down my back so my hair is still wet but not soaking through the shirt I put on. From there, I flip my hair upside-down and spray Gelebration Spray in my hair and scrunch. I then flip my hair back upright and spray some Gelebration Spray into the palm of my hand and flip my hair over and do a second round of scrunching. From there, I use a small amount of Confident Coils Styling Solution, like the size of a dime-nickel, and rub it on the palms of my hands. I then flip my hair over a third time and scrunch this into my hair. From there, I check the mirror, make sure I didn't miss scrunching any spots and I air dry unless I have a special occasion when I would use a diffuser.
The Awe Inspiraling Spray is a product re-activator so if you feel your hair fizzle, go to the gym, get stuck out in humidity, put your hair up and take it back down, or want to skip washing and redo your hair quickly the next day, that is the item you use to re-activate the Jessicurl products. I don't use it often but it does work great.
My hair has bounce, looks full and healthy and has great shine. I do need to keep up with trims to keep my layers at good lengths to maintain some oomph in my hair. The combo of a great stylist who knows my hair and cuts it well along with the Jessicurl products has been key in my moving my haircare into natural products. I have to say, this was the hardest thing to switch over to natural and I am so happy that I finally found Jessicurl.
