W3LL People Nudist Lipshine Stick #3

A natural brand that I have wanted to try for quite a while is W3LL People.  It took me some time but I finally was able to place an order when there was a great discount on a handful of W3LL People items at Pure Citizen.  Hooray for sales!

One of the items that I picked up to try was the W3LL People Nudist Lipshine Stick in #3 which is a cherry shade.  I have to say this was the surprise favorite out of my order.  Every single time I wear this, even long after the color is gone, my lips feel amazing.  There is something magical about nudist, if only the fact that it really does let your lips goes nude and feel great. The hint of color is nice too, gives you some oomph but you still look natural.  I am wishing that I ordered more of these.

Purely You Minerals

I was offered the chance to try out some samples of Purely You Minerals and was more than happy to give them a try.  I think I will always love mineral makeup.  When I see a line with good ingredients, I love to see how the products work for me.  This line of mineral makeup is free of bismuth and nano size particles.

I got to try samples of foundation, finishing powder, bronzer, blush, eye colors and lip gloss.   I tested them out a couple times and had the same results each time.  I wanted to give them a few tries before deciding what I thought.

I started with a light application of Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil, just a few drops patted gently on my face.  Then I applied 100% Pure Luminous Primer for my face and eyes.

I looked over the foundation shades and found 2 that should work and have to say Neutral Fair was a decent match for me, especially in winter now that I am practically hibernating. Neutral Fairly Medium was too dark for me. I applied the foundation with my Real Techniques brush and it worked really well. Next I applied Purely Bronze Bronzer with a Real Techniques brush.  It was a nice shade to do some contouring and warm up my skintone. I applied a layer of Light Skin Veil with a Hello Kitty synthetic brush.  Then I applied Purely Mauve Blush which I loved.  This blush looks fab on.  It really gave me a healthy rosy look.

After all of that, I applied a layer of Vanilla Latte from my lash line to just below my brow bone.  Then I applied Bare to my lids and crease area.  Vanilla Latte is a great base shade with a hint of sparkle.  It really helped cover up the redness on my veiny eyelids and looked pretty too.  Bare and I just didn't get along.  I kept trying to apply it but it didn't seem to want to stay on my skin.  This doesn't seem to be how all their eye shades work so it may just involve the formular for Bare.  Vanilla Latte on the other hand worked great for me. I tested them a couple times and the same exact thing happened so the conclusion was that Bare doesn't like me LOL

After all of that, I applied Blushing Lips with an Eco Tools lip brush.  This felt really nice and cool on my lips.  It looked light and pretty too.  When you look at my pics, don't judge the products for how tired I might look.  I was having an eye allergy reaction to Chinese food (most likely) most of last week so my eyes were still a bit puffy and red and I chose to go without mascara and eyeliner because of it.  This look is a very natural soft one and uses all of the products listed.

Bite Beauty Colour + Shine to Go

If you have visited my blog for a while, you probably know that I am a natural lippie junkie.  I love them and love to try as many as I can. I was psyched to finally get to test Bite Beauty products and had my VIB discount from Sephora to use before the holidays.  One of the items I picked up was the Bite Beauty Colour + Shine To Go set. I got it in Tannin/CinCin/Champagne Pearl.  It did come in other shades at the time but this one looked the most me.

This kit is great because you get little try me size pieces.  You get 1 gloss in Champagne Pearl and 2 mini lipsticks, which are adorable! Tannin & CinCin are the lipstick shades. The ingredients list is very impressive.  I think the only product from their whole line I would avoid is the SPF lip balm because the only sunscreen ingredients I can wear safely involve minerals like titanium dioxide.

The lip gloss feels nice on and looks pretty.  The lipsticks are nice and creamy with bold color.  The color lasts pretty well though you do need to reapply.  It is natural and good for you so that is the trade off.  No lipstick that lasts all day is natural.  The mini lippies are too cute.  I love their packaging too.  The lipstick case shapes vary for the type of shade the lipstick is.  The line is a lot of fun and a potential new addiction for me.  This set retails for $15.  Not bad at all for a try me price.

Book Report: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Chakras

image from kobobooks.com
Many of you know that I am very interested in alternative therapies, wellness, healing, etc.  I recently became very interested in chakras and wanted to get educated on them.  I bought a couple books but also found a really good book at my local library, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Chakras by Betsy Rippentrop PhD and Eve Adamson.

This book is the perfect one to start with if you want to learn about chakras.  I already knew a little bit about them from doing meditation & yoga but I wanted to know more.  This was the place to start.  I found it very easy to read and understand.  I took tons of notes, so many that I might as well have bought the book, but I was trying to be more budget and earth friendly by using the library.

The book covers the basics like where your chakras are, the history and background of chakras, how chakras work, and more.  Each chakra (there are 7) is covered individually in its own chapter.  It explains how to balance your chakras, what it is like when you have a chakra that is too closed or too open and it even has yoga poses, meditations and visualizations to help chakras.

For me, the part I liked best was learning more about each individual chakra. I can tell I have some blocks that I need to work on.  Chakras can correlate with certain emotions, traumatic events, health issues.  It was very interesting to see things spelled out in a way that made sense and gave me insight into how to work on things.

If you are curious about chakras, I think this is the book to read first.  Now I feel much more educated and like I will have a good understanding before I read more books that involve energy and chakras.

There is nothing more exciting than getting surprises in the mail.  My latest surprise was a Vegan Conscious Box sent me to to review on my blog.  You can find them at http://consciousbox.com/veganbox  Conscious Box is a monthly subscription service that sends you natural eco-friendly items to try out each month.  Now they have a Vegan box, which is what I am reviewing here and they also now have Gluten Free! 100% Pure Red Wine Resveratrol Scrub & Mask

I was running low on facial scrub and felt the urge to try something else.  100% Pure ran a weekly value special on a set of Red Wine Resveratrol skincare and they had a great gift with purchase offer at the same time so I jumped at the chance.  Red Wine Resveratrol is their age protective line and who doesn't need a bit of that?

The set I ordered came with a facial scrub/mask, a face primer, eye cream, nourishing cream and antioxidant serum.  All items were full sized and the whole set was on sale for $88 which is a lot cheaper than ordering all those individually.  Then add to that, I got a free gift with my purchase, over %100 worth of makeup from their line.

Today I want to talk about the scrub from this order since it is something I have used almost daily since the order arrived.  Red Wine Resveratrol Scrub & Mask is a nice mask for any skin type.  The aroma is divine.  It smells like sweet grapes or a sweet wine or grape juice.  You can feel the lush scrub on your skin along with exfoliating jojoba beads.  You can rinse immediately or leave it on to use it as a mask.  I am sad to say my tube of this face mask seems to be running low.The scrub alone retails for $21.

Bare Minerals Petite Treats Lip Gloss Collection

Looks like I got too busy around the holidays and forgot to post about this collection.  I love the 100% natural glosses from Bare Escentuals. I did my seasonal, go through lippies to make sure they are still fresh, had to toss a few so there was room to add a few more.  I was so tempted by this collection and waited quite a while to finally grab it.  I showed restraint! When I decided to order from QVC as part of my Christmas presents, this had to be added to the list.  Bare Minerals Petite Treats is a set of 4 mini lipglosses that are 100% natural. It is currently listed at $25 on QVC's website.

The colors are great and you can't beat a mini gloss.  I actually tend to use these up.  Tangerine Glace reminds me of the old formula lip gloss, Sheer Tangerine, from BE if you used to wear their line long ago like me.  I have been wearing these a lot since I got them.  I think a couple live in my handbag most of the time.

Here are some pics!
