My Hello Kitty Halloween Costume

This year's Halloween costume was more work to piece together than to do my makeup look.  I still had to find the right colors and products to use.

I was Hello Kitty this year.  I found the headband with ears and bow already put together at Hot Topic for only $9.50.  I bought white leggings at Target on clearance for $2.50 and a white t-shirt there too on clearance for about $5 or so.  Then I bought red fabric and large white butons and used a McCalls pattern I had used before to sew a jumper.  I altered it a little bit and made the straps a bit wider and made the jumper a bit bigger to look more like Hello Kitty.  The sewing didn't take too long so I finished it in an afternoon.  I added a Hello Kitty necklace, some silver and red earrings and black mary janes to finish off the whole look. Not sure if I have any full length costume pics.  If anyone from the party shares a pic, I will share it with you.

Then it was time to put my makeup together.  I used 100% Pure Luminizing Face Primer on my face and eyes.  After that I wanted a foundation that was a bit too light for my skin to look a bit whiter but not pure white.  I found one of the foundation samples from Alima Pure in Beige 0 and that worked well.  I applied a heavy coverage with that.  Then I  applied Bare Minerals Illuminating (feather light) mineral veil.  I applied false eyelashes for the first time.  My Influenster VoxBox for Beauty Bloggers had some in it and I tested the glue on my arm in a patch test and had no reaction so I wore them for the party.  I didn't get them lined up perfectly with my lash line but I still thing they looked great and they didn't bother me like I expected.  So fun!

I applied Vapour Organic Beauty Mesmerize Eyeliner/Smoky Eye Tool in Black Velvet to apply my whiskers on my cheeks.  I mixed Bare Minerals eyeshadows in Hay and Petunia to get a good yellow for my nose.  I added some saline and applied it wet to my nose and then put Bare Minerals Mineral Veil over everything to keep it set on my skin.  I lined my eyes with Lavera Liquid Eyeliner in Black and applied some 100% Pure mascara in Black Tea to my own lashes so they didn't stand out against the false lashes.  Finally, I added Bare Minerals Glee and Love Radiance to my cheeks and finished the look with Ilia Beauty Bang Bang on my lips.  Here are some pics!
