My Response to Your Answers to "Are there any natural beauty brands you would like me to try and review in my blog?'

Here are my responses to your answers to  "Are there any natural beauty brands you would like me to try and review in my blog?"  Hopefully I will look into some of the brands you want to see.

To my many Bare Escentuals lovers out there, no worries, I will keep blogging about BE as it is my fave all-time make up line ever.  As long as they stay natural, I am there!

L'occtaine - Sadly L'occtaine is a great brand but they are not all natural.  They use parabens and sulfates which are 2 key ingredients that I try to avoid as much as possible.

Dr. Hawasaki - I can't find anything with this name, sorry.

Physicians Formula line of paraben-free stuff - Physician's Formula is also pretty easy to find.  I will check them out next time I am in the store, make sure the ingredients are really as natural as they say and if there is a product I would like to try, I will buy it to write about in the blog.

Lavera -   I've seen Lavera at Target, I will look into the line and see what items I might use and buy them to test and blog about as long as the ingredients are what I am looking for.

Kiehls skincare -*eye cream w/ SPF - I have bad allergic reactions to most sunscreen chemicals and it looks like the one in this, Parsol 1789, is one that I need to avoid so I can't review this one.  :-(  I can look at other Keihls items and see if I can try some of them.

Ones that are available in most drugs stores - Burt's Bees and Yes to Carrots can be found in Target and Walgreens and other drugstores too. I will keep an eye out for other natural brands at stores like those and keep blogging about them as I try them out.

Burt's Bees - I do use a lot of Burt's Bees items.  I can keep blogging about them as I try them and I will try to dig up my old blog posts for Burt's Bees products in case you missed them.

Demonstrate the Beauty Blender recyclable sponge - Not really a natural brand. I will have to look into the ingredients for this one. I have an allergy to an additive found in most rubbers, not just latex.  Also, I am not sure if you want me to use this with BE or something else.

Origins - I used to use a lot of Origins products.  I stopped using this brand because many of their products were not all natural.  Next time I am in Macy's, I will see if there are any products that I can wear and stay all natural and might write about them for the blog.

Jane Iredale - Somehow I have never tried this brand.  I will look into the products and see if there is anything I would like to purchase and test out for the blog. The prices seem a bit steep so I might not be able to afford to do a lot of reviews.

Water based nail polish (like Scotch) - I did try a water based nail polish called Honeybee Gardens: WaterColors Non-Peel off nail polish and I was disappointed. It seemed to chip or peel off my nails almost right away.  I keep my eyes open for other brands but I seem to like the low-chemical nail polishes that don't use the "big 3" which are the most toxic ingredients found in many nail polishes. I prefer to write about products I really like and don't like to make a post all about something I didn't like though I might briefly mention it.

100% Pure - I did a lot of reviews of majority of my 100% Pure collection a while ago.  I can dig these out for a repost and if I buy any new 100% Pure goodies, I will be sure to share.

The Coconut Hut - They don't have any ingredient info listed on their site.  I will have to investigate further and see if they are all natural.

Pacifica - Just blogged about them a little while ago.  I am partial to my 2 fave scents so I can blog about different products in those scents.  They are my fave all natural fragrances.

interested in sunscreens without oils - As I mentioned above, I am allergic to most sunscreen chemicals so I really can only wear certain all natural ones.  Majority of them are not oil free.  If I find any that are both all natural and oil free, I will be sure to post.

Neutrogena's new natural line - I will have to read their ingredients list and see if I would like to try some products from this line.  A lot of these brands that say they are all natural still use very unnatural ingredients.  If this line is as natural as they say, I will gladly try them out.

What do you use for your curly hair? - I use Nature's Gate Herbal Shampoo & Conditioner for fine hair, Aveda Phomolient for volume since I have fine hair, Deva Curl B'Leave-In Conditioner, Deva Curl Moisture Lock and Deva Curl Angel.  They are pretty natural and work really well. I blogged about the Deva Curl stuff a while ago when I stopped using Aveda Be Curly products. I air dry most of the time, hence the really wet unfinished looking hair in most of my look posts LOL

Yes to Carrots - I blog about them as often as I can.  I think I have 1 or 2 new YTC products I can blog about.  I love most of their stuff and will try to blog about them more.

Josie Maran - I've been wanting to try some of these products.  I just need to decide what to try out first.  Any suggestions?

philosophy products - Philosphy products are not very natural.  I used to use them.  My skin wasn't happy with the skincare and when I decided to go all natural I had to stop using their 3-in-1's because they contain sulfates and I am really trying to phase them out.

Alba - I've used some Alba so I will be sure to blog about those and anything else I find by them that I like.

Weleda - I've tried on product from this line. I will keep my eyes out for more to try and blog about.

Body Shop - I just stopped in there this week to double check but most of their products aren't very natural.  They still have sulfates and I think they might have had parabens too. I did pick up their natural deodorant to try out.  That was free of sulfates and parabens.

Lavanila - I have used some of their fragrance oils.  I like their scents.  I had a reaction to their deodorant so I can't really review that one aside from saying that I reacted to it.  I will see if there is anything else in the line that I would like to try.

Tarte - Been wanting to try some Tarte products.  I just need to figure out what to try first.  I should be buying something and blogging about it soon, as my budget allows.

Youngblood - I had not heard of them before.  Their mineral lines sound nice though the prices a bit steep.  I will see if there is anything in my price range to try out.

La Bella Donna - Another nice looking mineral line.  Again the prices are a bit steep for me.  I will see if there are any products I really want to try.

Hemp products in general please - I should be able to find some good info and some products to try out for the blog.

Hazelbrand soaps - These soaps look really nice.  I am not a big bar soap user but I might be able to test out 1 or 2 and blog about them.

Suki - These products sound great.  I would be most likely to try out their body products since I am already very happy with most of the lines I use for my skincare and haircare. Prices are a little steep for my budget so it might take me a little while to get some of these.

natural homemade products - I can find recipes for these and try them out.  If I really like any, I will be sure to share here on the blog.

Supernatural Botanicals - I haven't tried these yet but they sound great. Prices seem reasonable so I should be able to try some of these out for the blog.

I am not affiliated with this company. I purchased these products myself for personal use.

  1. Read your list of brands to review/comment on and also wanted to let you know of Vapour Organics a great mineral makeup option with 2 different lines depending upon skin type. Also wanted to let you and your readers know that there is a new direct sales company, alex+von that has partnered with 100% Pure, Vapour Organics, suki & a great decal company called weeDECOR. With consultants like myself who work with these brands who can help customers find what they are looking for. Let me know if you have any other questions!

  2. Hi Heather - I developed an all natural acne treatment spray because of the total frustration trying to find something natural for my teenage daughter. It turned out to be so effective & good for the skin that it turned into a business. Your skin looks flawless & I doubt you have a need for an ace product, but it is amazing to spritz your brush before putting on mineral makeup. It not only sanitizes the brush, it makes MM go on like a dream. I'd love to send you a sample! Thanks - I enjoy your blog!

  3. Hi Suzanne, You can send me a message directly via facebook if you are on there, otherwise you can email me at heather_artiste@hotmail.com

  4. L'Occintane is now Paraben free! I'm CaliforniaRose from MM and I wanted to let you know that they re-formulated their formulas to remove parabens. As for sulfates I checked about 6 of my products and I didn't find any in the ingredient list. I'd be happy to send you some samples (along with a full ingredient list) from my personal stash for review. I swear I don't work for them, I just love alot of there new formulated products.

  5. Thanks Kelly! That is great news. Do you know how to reach me off the blog?
