Bare Escentuals April Newness and Preview Day

This month's new Bare Escentuals items are particularly exciting for me.  First, my Heather Buxom is out in the Swinger Girls Buxom Collection and will be in boutiques in April.  Second, my work schedule has finally changes and I can finally attend a Bare Escentuals boutique preview night in person! I booked an appt and everything.

Do you want details about the April newness & Preview night?  To find out what will be available, visit Mineral Madness forums here!

Swinger Girl Buxoms, and some other new stuff, will be in BE Boutiques on April 7.  Then on April 14, boutiques will host a preview day where you can preview & buy new stuff that won't be out until later this spring. For more details or to book an appointment, see the link above or call your local BE boutique!

I don't have any details about whether or not there will be an online preview day but it seems like it tends to be announced via email very close to the date of preview day. Stay tuned and I will keep  you updated.

My Zoya order from their Summer BOGO promo came today.  I am so glad I ordered these colors.  What a great deal and wow, they make me feel so ready for sandals and warmer weather, especially with a snowy forecast for Friday.  Here are some pics of what I got.  Swatch pics coming soon.  The ones I took tonight had bad lighting so the colors were not true enough to post.

My order! 8 Zoya Nail Colors and 2 free sets of Colorspoons
A bright happy rainbow of colors!
For those of you who wanted to know what colorspoons are.  This is a set of colorspoons.  You can put them right over your nail to see how the color will look on you!
Color spoons come with a booklet that showcases the collection the spoons are from and other seasonal collections.
The booklet also includes great pics of their fabulous nail colors and...
Info on their Color Lock System which I have heard such great things about.  I am ordering this next time!

a Bare Escentuals look with Honeydew, Girlfriend Tina, Beach Goddess & Teal

This morning, I found out some sad and shocking news.  An old high school friend had died suddenly last night.  She was a wonderful person and will be missed.  I am lucky to have so many happy fun memories with her.  She left us too young.  In honor of my friend Tina, I decided to do a look with Girlfriend Tina from Bare Escentuals today.  This look held up through some tears and though I know it doesn't really do much for her and her loved ones, it was an obsessive need for me today, maybe part of my grieving process.  I had a frantic fit searching through my eye color drawers over and over until I spotted the jar in the first drawer I had checked and calmed down.

I am wearing:

  • BE Prime Time for face
  • BE foundation in Fairly Light
  • BE Bisque as concealer
  • BE Faux Tan Matte
  • BE Blush in Optimist
  • BE Mineral Veil
  • BE Brightening Pearl Primer for eyes
  • BE Honeydew from lash to brow
  • BE Girlfriend Tina on lids
  • BE Beach Goddess in crease & v
  • BE Big & Bright liner in Teal
  • BE Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara in Black
  • BE 100% Natural Lipstick in Pink Champagne
  • Buxom Lip Gloss in Heather over lipstick

Welcome to my life Clarisonic & Bare Escentuals Deep Cleansing Foam

I finally caved after much deliberation and bought a Clarisonic Plus.  I have to say, any friend that I know who owns one raves about it.  It is not a cheap investment so I had to put a lot of thought into it.  I tend to freak out about buying anything over $100.  QVC had a Clarisonic TSV that came with Philosophy products too.  I decided it was time to just go for it.  I do not use Philosophy since it is not as natural as I would like and my skin was not happy when I used their cleanser.  I know plenty of people who love their stuff so I figured I could sell it or gift it to someone.  The Clarisonic came in such pretty colors and came with various brush heads to try out.  It arrived yesterday and sat in the cradle for its first 24 hour full charge.  I finally used it today.  I took before and after pics so I can show progress after using it for a while.  I am really hoping that this is what my skin has been looking for.  I am guessing that my new Bare Escentuals Deep Cleansing Foam will help too.  I used both today and my skin feels FABULOUS!

Some pics, some of which I would not normally share:
First time use, supposed to use a pearl size, I guess I like big pearls LOL Next time I will know better.
Cleanser on the face before using my Clarisonic on it
All happy and clean!
My problem skin on my chin, been like this or worse since I was about 9. This is actually not so bad, I know, but it has never really gone away. Dermatologists said most of it was too deep to get to or gave me antibiotic creams to try. Ugh!

A More Detailed look at my Beauty Nook

I posted a pic of my beauty area on facebook and got a lot more reaction than I expected so I wanted to share more pics with more info and details.  I hope this helps answer any questions that anyone might have had and maybe helps some of you organize your collection if you are having a rough time pulling it together.

First, I organize everything by color group.  This is my preference. Some like to sort by kit or alphabetically.  Whatever works best for you is the way to go.  I tend to sort everything by category, so this is my style. I have color groups like purples, greens, highlight colors, golds & coppers, pinks & reds and I keep all liners together and do not group those by color (yet). I have all blushes together, all radiances and gossamers together, etc.  I make labels for all of the drawers so I never forget where anything is.

I also make labels for every jar. I use post it notes in bright colors and use the sticky part to write the labels for my jars.

After that, all my brushes, liner pencils, mascaras & lippies are stored on top of the drawers of eye colors. I seperate eye brushes from face brushes.  I keep all my large body glimmers or gossamers on top of my silver safekeeper tower.  These are rubbermaid storage drawers that have a flip top on top and spaces that brushes fit in.  I think they are intended for office storage.  As my collection grows, these might get replaced so I can have more drawer space.

My lip glosses are now being kept in a desk storage item I found on clearance.  I am tempted to go see if they have any left because it worked even better than I expected and it would work well for my brushes.

Last but not least, is my everyday basics area. I keep a placemat for my "work area" so that minerals do not make a mess on my dresser.  I keep all the basics that I use everyday or often there.  I have 2 rows of jars where I keep foundation in 2 shades, bisque concealer, warmth & Faux tan matte, flawless radiance, and a variety of mineral veils.  My double ended brushes and magnetic tip brushes often end up hanging out there.
To the left of this, I keep my primers, a brush for eye primer, a crease brush for blending, an eye shaping brush for highlighting along with opal eye color, brow color, the retro liner brush that I use for brows and saline which is what I use for wetlining.  Beyond that, I have some 100% Pure blushes, a liner, a bronzer and some lip palettes that I keep there. I also keep a funky fluffy pen there in case I want to write notes or cross something off a list.

I have a lot of jewelry, mostly funky artsy stuff that I collection at arts & crafts festivals.  I saw a woman selling earrings at a festival and she used a planter to display earrings.  It gave me the idea to use this votive holder to store my earrings that are on hooks.  All my post backed or silver earrings are in silver safekeeper boxes.  I keep some of my non-solver necklaces on a key holder.

Any of my extras, packaging that I want to keep, etc all goes in a rolling drawer cart or in small sterlite drawers on a bookshelf in the same room.

Introducing Buxom Swinger Girls & Heather Buxom

My buxoms arrived today.  Unfortunately, I am recovering from a nasty bug and won't wear or swatch these until I am fully recovered.  As I said before on the blog, I was told that Heather Buxom was named for me, though I still hardly believe it, she is here.  When notes were released about this coming out, I was told that it said it was named for a blogger named Heather and everyone said it must be me.  I asked Leslie Blodgett about it on facebook and she didn't deny it, she just told me it would be out in March.   ***Edited to add that Jessica Foust announced on QVC during the first presentation of these that the Heather Buxom was named for Heather who works at BE**

Here are pics of the buxoms.  Once I feel better, I will post swatches and pics of me wearing them.
