My 2nd Bare Escentuals Nirvana: The End is Near!

I am close to the end of my 2nd Bare Escentuals Nirvana, my mission to wear all my BE eye colors without repeating them.  I just reviewed my progress and here are the stats:

Just 25 colors left to wear.  It is now easier to count them instead of the # of colors worn.  If I do some math, that comes out to: 451 BE Eye colors worn so far!  I am almost to the end and I have to say I am happy.  I did not stop shopping like I did last time so it took a lot more time but I still made it.  I am still going to require myself to wear the last 25 before I can wear the other colors again.  I am really missing my greens and purples!

I might not be posting looks until I am done.  It is very hard to come up with great combos when this limited to the colors I can use but sometimes I get a surprise so I keep the camera nearby just in case.

Natural Solutions Magazine

I read a lot of magazines and have to say that many of them like to list "natural" beauty products that are good for you.  I have noticed that some of these "natural" products can still contain key ingredients that I like to avoid.  I try to stay as natural as possible, low-no chemical ingredient lists are a must for me.  I have chemical sensitivities and frankly want to keep bad stuff away from my skin. I often see products marked as natural but their ingredient lists include chemical sunscreens or parabens.

I wanted to share a magazine that is excellent about staying all natural with their recommendations.  It is less mainstream but still very good.  I do not subscribe to the hardcopy but I enjoy their website and emails.  It is Natural Solutions Magazine

A description from their website:
About Natural Solutions

Our content reflects our readers’ commitment to healthy, natural living. If you are as interested in staying all natural as I am, I hope you will check them out.

My first ever Bare Escentuals look photo - 2004

I was going through old photo files on my computer and found the folders from my first digital camera in October 2004.  This was taken less than 1 month after getting my camera so I am pretty sure it is my first ever Bare Escentuals look photo.  I am wearing the Retro Lounge Eye kit, which was Retro Liner with a special angled liner brush.  I am probably wearing Nude Beach since I lived in it back then.  No clue about the colors though I was wearing Light foundation at the time.  Look how red my hair was!!!  My eye make up application has really advanced a lot to.

Bare Escentuals Rethink Radiant AKA Rethink #3

Today was like a BE party at my house.  My Rethink auto-delivery #3 came from QVC today on top of my other orders from bareescentuals.com.  This came later in the day so I didn't have a chance to wear it or swatch by daylight.  I will try to wear it tomorrow or Sun and post pics.  For now, here are some pics of the kit and some swatches.

The full collection came with a foundation, prime time brightening primer, prime time brightening pearl eyelid primer, alive eyecolor, big & bright eyeliner in plum, vivacious blush, 100% natural gloss in lollipop, an angled face brush and a blending brush.

Bare Escentuals Faux & Foxy Kit

Another purchase that I made during the Bare Escentuals Preview Sale is the Faux & Foxy Kit.  I tried really hard to hold out on this one because I am trying to have more will power with my spending but I could not resist. Between the colors and the rave reviews from Leslie Blodgett herself who said on her facebook fan page, "OMG, if it is available get it. I LOVE it."  I claimed that Leslie made me buy it but everyone knows I would get it sooner or later anyway.  She just nudged me LOL This will also be available in March 2011.

Here are some pics.

These are the best compact BE has ever made.  They currently have them for mineral veil varieties. The Buff & Go brushes are to die for super soft.

Amazing staying power of the new gloss, this is after I washed the swatches off with soap and water

Bare Escentuals BE Cares Color - Sweet Smile!

I ordered this during the preview sale and it is here, hooray.  What a gorgeous color for an amazing cause.  A wonderful BE friend coordinated with Bare Escentuals to make this color in honor of her sister.  Here are some pics and info on the color which should be available again this spring (I think March 2011). It is described as a grayish silvery color but I find it to be a warm taupey gray with a hint of purple tone and lavender sparkles!!! I hope you can even get a hint of how beautiful it is from these pics. The best pics, in my opinion, are the ones of the jar and on my eyes.  The swatch pics don't do it justice.  I kept taking swatch pics but none of them really showed how pretty it is. **Edited to add that I've been told by a little birdie that the street date is March 3, 2011)**

This article is not just a quick little blurb, it is a great overview of the company and some of the history of the company and Leslie Blodgett, now Bare Escentuals Executive Chairman.

A Cosmetics Scrapbook - My Bare Escentuals Scrapbook

A while ago I started a scrapbook for Bare Escentuals.  I used it to keep inserts and packaging info so I was not having to toss the product info and directions for looks and I was also not taking up too much room. I saw this in my Martha Stewart email and thought it was a good way to go about doing this instead of using glue for everything.

http://www.marthastewart.com/good-things/no-glue-scrapbook?xsc=eml_org_2011_02_09

Here are some pics of my personal scrapbook which I need to get working on updating.  I have a stack of things to break down and add.  I may need a 2nd scrapbook to get it all taken care of.

A fun video review of the Buxom Waterproof Smoky Eye Stick from Bare Escentuals

I just wanted to share this fun video review with you. It is for the new Buxom Waterproof Smoky Eye Stick available at Sephora.com now.

I still don't have one myself because I went to my Sephora and they did not have these yet but I think I am going to cave and get the green one.

Bare Escentuals Naturally Luminous Collection

There might be a huge snowstorm today but my order from QVC arrived safe & sound. I ordered the Naturally Luminous Collection during the Bare Escentuals shows on QVC last weekend, well I actually ordered it before the shows because I knew this was the one I wanted during these shows.  Right now, it looks like it has sold out but it should be back in stock soon and in the spring it should also be available in BE boutiques.

I tweaked my lower back on Tuesday so this was just what I needed to get myself feeling lively, pretty and luminous again after spending a day stuck on the couch in my jammies.  My back is feeling quite a bit better too.

Here are pics of the collection and of me wearing the collection.  Love these colors!!!

I am wearing:

  • BE Brightening Prime Time for face
  • BE foundation in Fairly Light
  • BE Bisque as concealer
  • BE Faux Tan Matte
  • BE Blush in Miracle
  • BE Mineral Veil
  • BE Prime Time Eye Primer
  • BE Refresh on lids
  • BE Restore in crease & V
  • BE B&B Liner in Charbronze
  • BE Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara in Black
  • BE 100% Natural Lip Gloss in Fruit Smoothie
