What products do you use to get such gorgeous skin??

I got asked, "What products do you use to get such gorgeous skin??" Well, here is the answer. Since I change my routine once in a while, I needed to write an update anyway.

In the morning, I use the following:

I alternate day to day between 100% Pure Skin Brightening Facial Scrub and  100% Pure Super Fruits Facial Scrub. I do my face scrub in the shower.  Then after my shower I moisturize.

Lately, I have been using Burt's Bees Radiance Day Creme.  For my eyes, I am still using 100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream.
If I need to do any acne treatment, I use Bare Minerals (Rare Minerals) Blemish Therapy.
Same great product, just a new name and look!
Then, of course, I apply my Bare Escentuals mineral make up. Most of the time I use the new Brightening Prime Time for face, original formula Bare Minerals foundation, Bisque concealer, faux tan matte for all over face color, and one of the many mineral veils.  I also apply blush and whatever eye colors I decide to use that day.

In the Evening before bed, I cleanse with either Bare Escentuals Rare Minerals Purifying Facial Cleanser or Yes to Cucumbers Natural Glow Facial Towlettes.
After that, I sometimes use Aveda Botanical Kinetics Exfoliant. This is probably every few days.

My evening moisturizing routine consists of  100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream 100% Pure Jasmine Green Tea Moisturizer. On my lips, I use Yes to Carrots Berry Lip Butter every night before bed. For my hands, I use Yes to Carrots Hand and Elbow Moisturizing Cream.

Special Skin treats:

About once a week I try to use 100% Pure Cherry Honey Facial Scrub.  I would use it more often but don't like to run out LOL

Another once a week item is Aztec Indian Healing Clay.  This was recommended long ago when I got a facial in a spa.  I haven't stopped using it since.  I mix it with apple cider vinegar and leave it on for about 15 min.

Swirl, Tap, Buff & Woohoo!

Since our large group of Bare Escentuals lovers cannot stop saying "woohoo" since the QVC airing at 10pm EST on Nov 13, 2010, I decided to make a little something special.  Please feel free to use this as long as you keep my name at the bottom so I get credit for my so-so photo editing LOL I did not have my fancy macbook with me so I was without photoshop on this one.

If anyone with the Simpsons, Fox Broadcasting or Bare Escentuals has an issue with this item legally, please contact me and I will gladly remove it from my blog. This image is purely for fun.  Do not reproduce this for any profit based purposes. Thank you.

The Old Deerfield Christmas Sampler Arts & Crafts Festival

Today, I went on my annual trip to the Old Deerfield Christmas Sampler Arts & Crafts Festival.  My mom and a family friend came with me.  We had an easy drive there, which is always nice since it is about 2 1/2 hours.  We all split up to do our own shopping and ran into each other while heading back to the entrance we used.  I went through aisles and aisles of marvelous hand crafted items.  I bought a few fun items and collected cards from many more that I just could not decide on so I can check their websites later.  This is my stash from today:

My all time fave, Lisa Bess.  I've been a customer for so long that she left me in charge of the booth while she ran to the restroom LOL   http://www.lisabess.com/

I got Kitty a catnip mat. It was going to be a Christmas present but he stuck his head in the bag as soon as I got home so I let him have it early. It is from Parlor City Pets. http://www.parlorcitypets.com/
I had a hard time making up my mind at Norboe Glass Art.  So many amazing colors!  I am as addicted to dichroic glass as much as I am Bare Escentuals.  Sorry, no website for this one.
These earrings called out to me, maybe because they matched my necklace and top or maybe just because they were pretty LOL They are from Elements of Fusion. http://www.etsy.com/shop/elementsoffusion

I also got some amazing sugar cookies that I get every year from Sweetie Pie Cookies. http://www.sweetiepiescookies.com/

a Bare Escentuals look with high shine Moonshine & Frost

First off, I've been asked how I apply the high shine eye colors so I wanted to explain what I do.  I do my shake, tap & swirl technique.  Then I apply the high shine color to one eyelid with one side of the applicator and flip it over and use the other side of the applicator on the other eye.  This helps prevent you from overdoing it and there is usually plenty enough to show up on both eyes. After I apply, I use the blending brush across the crease, back and forth so it prevents it from looking like a harsh line.  If I am applying 2 colors like the look below, I use the blending brush only over the place where the colors meet.

I am wearing:

  • BE Brightening Prime Time for face
  • BE foundation in Fairly Light
  • BE Bisque as Concealer
  • BE Faux Tan Matte
  • BE Pink Ribbon Blush
  • BE Mineral Veil
  • BE Prime Time for Eyes
  • BE high shine Frost on inner 1/3 of lid (please ignore the little splotch I forgot to blend out on the inner corner of my left eye LOL)
  • BE high shine Moonshine on outer 2/3 of lid
  • BE B&B Liner in Black Diamond
  • BE Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara in Black
  • BE 100% Natural Gloss in Plumtini

My BE get together in Albany NY

I posted everywhere to see who would want to meet up in Albany for a Bare Escentuals get together.  I found a small group of people and eventually due to scheduling or not feeling too well, we ended up with a group of 7. Still not too shabby.  I contacted the BE Boutique at Crossgates.  The manager Josie was great.  We were all set to meet at 6pm.  They had a preview night the 2 nights before we went and we were able to shop from those items.  Everyone got their make up done, whether it was a full face or just eyes.

First I met up with Debra at Colonie Center.  We had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and browsed Sephora and the Macy's BE counter before we headed upstairs to Bettie's Cakes to buy cupcakes.  We chatted in Barnes & Noble and had coffee and a soda with our cupcakes. After that, we drove to Crossgates.  We introduced ourselves and met up with Susan, another member of our groups.  We did a little shopping and then headed back to the boutique a little before 6pm.

They were getting our area set up.  We were able to keep our shopping bags in the back of the store.  Some people got color matched, some learned tips and tricks for foundation and eye colors.  Some tried new shades.  Even though I had a great look on my eyes already, I saw a funky look I would normally never do and said let's go for it.  We ran so late that I only had time for a cocktail and left before dinner.  Next time I will plan better so I don't need to rush home.

Here are some pics of our fun night.

BE eye colors: Wildcat, Alley Cat, Sun, Blue Black & Jade with True on cheeks and Peach Cobbler on lips

Best Shout Out from Leslie Blodgett of Bare Escentuals on QVC

Leslie is so great! She gave me 3 shout outs on QVC this weekend while using my high shine eye color technique.  I took this video of the last shout out which was by far the best one.  It all made my day but this last shout out has me still smiling.  I apologize for the poor video and sound quality.  The video is also available at qvc.com presentation video but it might not be there after the next time these are presented so I just wanted to have a video to keep so I remember this. I also had a few friends say they missed it and this way they can see it without having to go to qvc's website if they choose not to.

"Heather from NY showed me this."

If you have been watching Bare Escentuals on QVC today, either last night at 12am EST or this afternoon at 1pm EST, you may have heard Leslie Blodgett say, "Heather from NY showed me this." which she showed the high shine eye colors.  Heather from NY is ME!!!!

I have to say I am super excited.  The technique she is using for prepping the high shine tubes for application is something I came up with as soon as I purchased them during preview night in September.  I absolutely love these colors and hope those of you who try them love them too.

If you go view the High Shine Duos at QVC.com you can watch a video where Leslie gives me a shout out.  Click here: High Shine Duo in Patina and Glisten Video  OR here: High Shine Duo in Moonshine and Frost (edit to add that this video is the new presentation, the technique is used but my name is not said LOL)

These are a great deal as these sell for $16 each in the boutiques.  I highly recommend them! I still can't believe my technique is being shown to people all across the country.  Lisa said hi to me! LOL Thank you so much Leslie for acknowledging my technique and giving me a shout out in every BE show.
