The great natural deodorant quest!

I've been talking about this for ages though that is because I have been trying to find the best natural deodorant for ages.  For now, I think I finally found one that seems to work well for me but I plan to keep my eyes open in case someone even better comes along. Here is the run down of everything I have tried.

Deodorant #1 Crystal Body Deodorant.
This was the first natural deodorant I ever used and for a long time I loved it.  I did need to reapply on a hot day or after a workout but in general, it worked pretty well.  I was using the original stick at the time.  They have more available now.  You have to wet it before you apply it which can be a bit awkward unless you keep it in the bathroom by the sink. It is said to last for up to 1 year and is pretty affordable, Generally around 5.99 each. It is unscented, hypoallergenic, aluminum chlorohydrate free, paraben free, alcohol-free, non-sticky, non-staining, fast drying, long lasting and never leaves residue behind.

I had a bad experience while wearing this, though I wonder if it was from one emergency stay away from home when I used spray deodorant.  I ended up with ringworm in my armpit (eww) and developed an aversion to anything I had worn around the time.  I may try Crystal Body Deodorant again, especially now that they have more types available.

My rating on Crystal Body Deodorant: Very Good

Deodorant #2 LuckyGirlBoutique Vegan Deodorant in Orange Creamsicle
You might remember me talking about this one.  I had originally bought a different deodorant from this seller at Etsy.com in Lemon Poundcake.  I love baked goods scents and lemon scent and this was said to be a top seller for her boutique.  When I got it, it didn't smell like lemon pound cake and on my skin, it smelled like strong perfumey baby powder.  I felt like I had soaked my pits in Baby Soft LOL  The seller saw my rating and contacted me out of concern.  She said she would send me a different scent to try and I decided to give her another chance. Maybe the scent just didn't mix well with my body chemistry?  Who knows.  The new scent, orange creamsicle, is soooo much better.  I have to say, it smells very fruity which I like.  My boyfriend is constantly asking me why he smells oranges or fruit loops LOL Much better than what he smelled the other one and begged me to wash my armpits before we left the apartment.  This one works well, lasts long and seems to even hold up to a workout.  The downside is that it is messy.  I wasn't careful and got it all over the armholes of my tank top yesterday.

My rating on Crystal Body Deodorant: Very Good

Deodorant #3 My Beauty Addiction Vegetable protein Deodorant with Aloe Vera and Chamomile in Pink Kisses Scent
I have to say, this shop has fabulous scents but sadly, I had an allergic reaction to this deodorant.  From the few days I tested it, the scent was nice and seemed to last well.  I can't attest to how well it worked since my armpit broke out in a rash both days I wore it and I tested it a 3rd day to be sure and yet again, rash in one of my armpits.  I won't give this a rating since I was not able to truly wear and test it for effectiveness.

Deodorant #4 Bunny Butt Apothecary The Pitts Veggie Deodorant in Atomic Cherry Amaretto
This deodorant was a favorite of mine though it didn't last.  I tended to be stinky at the end of the day, even if it wasn't hot out.  I think to wear it with success, I would need to reapply once or twice throughout the day.  The scent was fabulous and the feel was great.  It wasn't messy.

My rating on Bunny Butt Apothecary The Pits Veggie Deodorant: Good

Deodorant #5 Weleda Citrus Deodorant Spray
This product was different than most that I tried but was rated well.  I found that wearing it alone was difficult.  It made my pits feel sticky and when I first sprayed it, they burned.  I tended to prefer to wear it as an additional scent to help out the other deodorant I was wearing.  The scent was good and it seemed to last pretty well but I can't say how it was as a solo all day deodorant.  It never felt like enough.  I think hairless armpits need a little something to help prevent sticky friction.

My rating on Weleda Citrus Deodorant Spray: Good

Deodorant #6 Jason Tea Tree Oil Deodorant Stick
This was a favorite for a little while though it wasn't exactly lasting.  When I wore this, my boyfriend often complained that I was stinky LOL  I think I mostly liked how easy it was to find and that it felt good on.  Unfortunately, being stinky won and I moved on.  This would definitely require more than one application throughout the day.  It never held up when I worked out or if the weather was really hot.  It just didn't do it for me.

My rating on Jason Tea Tree Oil Deodorant Stick: So So

Deodorant #7 Herbal Clear PG Free Deodorant
This may be the most disappointing deodorant of all.  I thought herbal, must smell good, no way.  This was the stinkiest before I even put it on so my armpits never smelled good.  It also didn't seem to last.  This was one of the fastest things I tossed in my reject pile, sorry to say.

My rating on Herbal Clear PG Free Deodorant: Bleh!

Deodorant #8 Tom's of Maine Crystal Confidence Deodorant in Citrus Zest
This was my attempt to give Tom's of Maine another shot (see below for their other deodorant review). This deodorant felt good on, didn't leave a mess and wasn't sticky. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to do much for me.  I wore it for a while and seemed to be stinky by the end of the day.  It didn't hold up to warm weather.  I am not sure if reapplying would make much difference.  Sorry Tom's of Maine, I had high hopes.

My rating for Tom's of Maine Crystal Confidence Deodorant: So So

Deodorant #9 Tom's of Maine Long Lasting Care Deodorant Stick in Apricot
I thought Tom's of Maine was going to be a great choice for me but sadly I was mistaken.  This deodorant smelled good.  I was excited by the apricot scent as it reminded me of my apricot bunny from the Strawberry Shortcake line of toys when I was little (which I still have and it still smells good BTW).  Unfortunately, the skin of my armpits peeled when I wore this deodorant.  This wasn't pleasant but not the worst reaction I have ever had.  Due to my reaction, I can't really rate this on how well it worked.  I was too busy taking care of my armpit skin to try it again.

My rating of Tom's of Maine Long Lasting Care Deodorant: N/A

Deodorant #10 Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal Roll-On
This is a deodorant that I keep coming back to.  It works well, feels good on, never bothers my skin and seems to work pretty well.  I sometimes get stinky at the end of the day but figure it could be worse, I could stink all day instead LOL   They now carry scented items so I might give those a try.  That boost of scent might be all this product needs.

My rating for Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal Roll-on is: Very Good

Since I have not yet found my "EXCELLENT" rated natural deodorant, my quest continues.  For now, I will keep using my top 3 Very Good rated deodorants until I find the best one out there.  When I find it, I will let you all know!

I am not affiliated with any of these companies. I purchased these products myself for personal use. Pin It StumbleUpon
