Some older 100% Pure product reviews

I wrote these reviews per special request from some forum friends back in February. I have gotten a few more 100% Pure Products since then so stay tuned for some new reviews. For now, here are the reviews I have written so far.

All natural vegan products, cruelty free, gorgeous packaging. Vegan make up brushes! You should see their tins, so pretty and they are usually made from recycled materials!

100% Pure Creamstick Liner Pencil & Liquid Liner 2-pc. Set

Creamstick liner pencils are fantastic. They go on creamy and smooth and the colors are great. I love them for a very quick application of some color on my eyes. I rub my eyes a lot because of allergies and it usually lasts as long as my BE, depends on just how much I rub my eyes LOL
The liquid liner was not as good for me. My biggest problem was the consistency. It was hard to get on well because it is not as creamy as you would expect. The color is pretty but the texture and difficulty to apply turned me off .

100% Pure Moisture Rich Lip Gloss Duo w/ Fruit Pigments

Fabulous! I adore their lip glosses. They come in the old traditional applicator where you get lots of gloss but they can leak a little. I usually get around that by wiping it off before I put it in my purse and then I put it in with my cell phone so it stays standing up. The new applicators are really cool, you twist and click to get the gloss up into the brush to apply it. The only downside is that you get less gloss. Their glosses feel amazing, smell good and leave your lips feeling soft. They are ALL pretty colors too. The color does not last long but it feels so good that you won’t mind reapplying throughout the day.

100% Pure Pink Champagne Luminescent Face Powder & Brush

I love this! When I got this set, I wore it daily. It is one of the few things I have worn through to the bottom of the tin already. It looks great on, gives a pink glow. Not quite like any of the radiances in shade. Almost makes me think of what it might look like if Glee became a Radiance.

100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream, 1 oz.

I wear this daily. I put it on in the morning and evening and it smells so good. It smells more like cookies than coffee. I have tried to find a good all natural eye cream and this was it for me. It has also been recommended in a few magazines.

100% Pure Bronzer

Great bronzer. I tried it in cinnamon. I love to wear it as a bronzer all over my face but especially to get my neck to match my face which it never does. It goes on great and the color is fabulous. I got it with one of their kabuki brushes which is so super soft and application is great.

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip Glaze 2-piece Set

I got these in the Lychee/Raspberry combo. Such pretty colors! They go on really smooth. I find my lips look really pouty and sexy in these. They are not a matte finish, they are more like a color stained lip balm. The raspberry goes on a bit smoother than the lychee so I am guessing the amount of creaminess relates to the main fruit the color comes from.

100% Pure Organic Fresh Squeezed Strawberry Lemonade Shower Gel, 100% Pure Organic Fresh Squeezed Tangerine Juicy Shower Gel, 100% Pure Organic Virgin Coconut Shower Gel

Love them! You do need to be aware that these are much more liquidy than your usual shower gel. They are still great and last the same amount of time. They smell AMAZING. They really are 100% natural and still work great. The one thing I noticed about some of these is that the opening does get a little clogged but I can clean it out easily and use it with no problem. As for the coconut one, this shower gel gets the same great vote as above but the one note on this one, it does not clog the opening. Smells amazing and feels great on the skin.

100% Pure Moisturizing & Juicy Lipstick Palette w/Fruit Pigment

Great lip palette. I love the colors and the creamy textures. My only complaint is that I want more lip brushes.

100% Pure Healthy Glow Powder with SPF 20 and Kabuki Brush (Peach Bisque)

Nice foundation powder. I love the brush. The foundation feels nice and light and goes on smooth. It feels light. Just like BE, it takes some time to adjust to how to apply. I use this on my lighter make up days. I just wish they had more skin tones available.

100% Pure 3-Piece Peppermint Color Collection

I love this kit! The blush is amazing. It looks great on and really smells minty. Just be careful around your eyes because it does feel cool and minty. I keep reaching for this blush above all my others. The lip balm is really nice though not strong enough for overnight use for me. It is great during the day when I need a quick creamy hint of minty moisture for my lips. The powdered pearls are really pretty but you do not get as much as it looks like you get in the pics. You get a small baggy of the pearls to empty into the container with the pretty puff. Still well worth it in my opinion.

100% Pure Lip & Cheek Tint

I have 4 of these. They are really nice and the colors go on great. You can wear them on your lips, cheeks or even your eyes. I have to say that Strawberry is my absolute favorite on my cheeks. It gives a dewy glowy pink tone that I love. Their names tell you what effect you will get from the tint. Some are shimmery, some say glow and some say sheer. I seem to like the shimmery ones best. The only thing with these is you can feel them on your cheek if you put a lot on.

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip Butter 4-pc. Set

I have tried a couple of these but not all. The texture feels nice on. The tints look nice on the lips and they all smell great. Some of the cutest packaging I have ever seen.

100% Pure Lengthening & Conditioning Mascara Duo

Great mascara! I have tried every shade, black tea, blackberry and blueberry. They look great on and really make a difference. My lashes always look great in these.

100% Pure First Crush Lip Color Palette w/ Fruit Pigment
Great lip palette. Smells great and the colors and creamy textures are great. The tine is not hard to open like some of the other larger ones (see below). My only wish is that these came with a lip brush or applicator.

100% Pure Cocoa Pigmented Chocolate Lip Palette
This one was great but I returned it because the smell of cocoa was so strong. I love to eat chocolate but don’t like to smell like it I guess. They colors were so pretty it made me sad but I kept getting annoyed with the scent. Super creamy lip colors. The tin this one came in was much harder to open than some of the others.

100% Pure Cocoa Pigmented Eye Shadow Palette
Wanted to love this but didn’t. The colors were pretty but not as good as my BE. I found them hard to apply and wish they came with applicators or brushes that worked well with them. I got the best results when I used my fingers to apply them. It was much harder to use my brushes with this. Also, this was another hard to open tin.

Having a hard time resisting 100% Pure

100% Pure is on the Q today. I browsed the new items and really wanted to buy some to try. I was more tempted by this than the last BE shows. I am trying hard to resist. Some really good today only deals are going on and it is very hard to resist such temptation.

I especially want to try: 100% Pure Flawless Skin Rice Powder Foundation w/SPF 15 &Brush
and 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Mimosa Blush

I am also pretty tempted by 100% Pure Pretty Naked Color Palette w/Mini Mascara & Gloss

Hey, at least my major temptations aren't eye colors for a change. I have plenty of those! I haven't ordered anything and most likely won't. Pin It StumbleUpon

Back from my Rehoboth Beach, DE vacation

We got back from our fantastic vacation last night. The drive was pretty long and rough at times. Heavy congestion, construction and heavy rains on the ride home made it tiring. The trip itself was great. I really loved the Rehoboth Beach area. Our hotel was about 3 1/2 blocks from the boardwalk and beach, a long walk but not too bad (thought I think the BF disagrees with me). Great atmosphere, good food, fun shops and plenty of cool towns and beaches within driving distance.

Day 1: We drove down with a detour stop in Quakertown PA to visit the Quakertown Farmer's & Flea Market and had lunch. This was a stop around the halfway point so it worked well to give us a break from the car. From there we headed straight to Delaware and found our hotel pretty easily. We checked in and got situated and walked down Rehoboth Ave searching for dinner. We were both pretty exhausted from the ride though I did all the driving. We ended up deciding on dinner at the Irish Eyes Pub. The food was okay but nothing to write home about. I did get a yummy drink there called Berried Treasure. After that we walked down to the boardwalk to look around. From looking at the pics I can tell that we were pretty tired.

Day 2: The weather was really oppressive on Monday. We decided to go get breakfast and walked to the Retro Café. I have to say this is by far my favorite place for breakfast that we went to on this trip. Words cannot do it justice so just look at the picture below, this is the Chocolate Hazelnut Belgian Waffle. One Belgian waffle with chocolate hazelnut on each, drizzled with Ghirardelli® chocolate and dusted with powdered sugar. Served with choice of breakfast meat or a fresh fruit cup.

We walked around the boardwalk area, snapped some pics and headed back to the hotel. From there we drove to the famous Rehoboth Beach area outlets. We went to one center of outlets first, got our coupons at the office, then the BF bought chocolate and we decided it was safest to run it back to the hotel. The air was so heavy that day that I was glad to run back because I needed to use my inhaler. I felt a lot better after that. We visited another outlet center and got lunch at Arena's Café. The atmosphere here was ok, casual but the bar customers got a little loud. Our sandwiches were ok but the cheese fries were really good. The BF was disappointed because he hoped for cheese sauce, not real cheese.

From here we continued on to the last set of outlets and also stopped at Wal-Mart for a few things we needed for our hotel room. We stopped at one of the many Candy Kitchen shops, this one seemed to be the biggest we saw.

We headed back to the boardwalk area after this and stopped at Go Fish! for dinner. Amazing fish n' chips!!!! Best beer batter and great handcut fries. This gets the best meal of vacation vote from me. I loved it.

Day 3: We went to breakfast at Sammy's Kitchen. Another walk the BF wasn't thrilled with but not as long as he expected. I had some yummy french toast, very cinnamon-y which I love. Went for a drive down Route 1 and passed through Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island and part of Ocean City, MD. We stopped at the Country Store in Fenwick Island. Eventually had lunch at the Blue Ox in Ocean City, MD. I had salmon and he had a philly cheesesteak (though he ordered the chicken version, he said the beef version was still pretty good LOL). After that we stopped in Bethany Beach to walk around Garfield Parkway and took a look at their beach and boardwalk. The beach looked nice and quiet and we found the best fudge place there, the Fudge Factory. So good we went back again for more fudge.

After this, I insisted on a nice walk along the boardwalk, some shop browsing and a nice romantic walk along the beach. It was really nice. I am glad we got this time at the beach and enjoyed the ocean together. The waves were crashing and I ended up with wet cropped pants but I didn't mind. It was such a pretty night and the weather felt perfect. I ended up shopping at 2 related shops, Scandinavian Occasion and Valhalla. I found some really cool unique jewelry there. I purchased a pendant and pair of earrings by Jennifer Trask. They are made from butterfly wings (butterflies live their lives and after dying of natural causes the wings are collected for art).
We got some Thrasher's French Fries to nom on and man were they good. The BF thought they were too salty but I love a good salty french fry...or bucket of french fries.

Day 4: Finally, the beach!!! We had breakfast at the Retro Café again, of course I had to get that chocolate hazelnut Belgian waffle again. Then we finally went to the beach. I was so happy. We found a spot, set up the beach blanket and umbrella and sat ourselves down. We were covered in our Badger sunscreen, SPF30. We enjoyed watching the little kids around us, especially the ones who were experiencing the waves and the ocean for the first time. Many funny and cute reactions. The best part was seeing dolphins swimming out in the water. They were out there for quite a while but were far too quick for my camera.

Then we headed into the water. I was fine with the water and the waves but the waves were so strong that rocks were rushing back and forth by my feet and eventually some bigger waves really hurt my foot so I decided I had enough of that and we went back to the beach blanket. My foot was pretty sore and bruised, not sure what happened but we are pretty sure it was just from rocks. We stayed for a bit, not as long as I hoped but I could tell the BF was bored and not enjoying himself. We walked to a market a block or so away to buy my Old Bay Seasoning. We stopped at the Ice Cream Store. I got an italian ice and the BF got a peanut butter ice cream. They have some weird flavors but the peanut butter was pretty good. Then we headed back to the car and the hotel to shower and cool off. We drove to Ed's Chicken & Crabs for lunch. The BF got the seafood medley and I got fish n' chips.

After that, we headed to Bethany Beach again to get more fudge. When we got back to the hotel, the BF decided he wanted to stay in and rest so I went for a nice long walk along Rehoboth Ave and the boardwalk, browsed in tons of shops and grabbed various food for dinner. I got us burgers at 5 Guys, then a fish n' chips to go from Go Fish! and finally some Fisher's Popcorn. I dropped the food off at the hotel and ran across the road to Grub Grocery and Starbucks for drinks and then called it a night.

Day 5: We headed to Dewey Beach and had breakfast at the Starboard. I had french toast, described on the menu to be slices as thick as a fat man's knuckle. The Bf had a croissant breakfast sandwich he was quite pleased with. Then off to the Fractured Prune for donuts. Oh my, it was hard to choose just 3 for each of us.

From top to bottom, left to right:
Carnival (glazed with sprinkles), Peanut Butter Glaze, Creamsicle, O.C. Sand (honey glaze, cinnamon sugar), French Toast (maple glaze, cinnamon sugar) and Pebble Beach (honey glaze, cinnamon sugar, mini chocolate chips)

After that, we stopped at the Sea Shell Shop so I could get a souvenir picture frame. Then we headed back to the hotel, got ready to snack on donuts and got a call on my cell phone that my relatives had arrived. My Aunt and Uncle live in MD and my cousin and her BF were visiting from Nebraska so I suggested they come visit us and see the town and the ocean. I thought they would enjoy it there. We went to meet them and had lunch at Go Fish! This time I was a bit fish n' chipped out so I got chicken n' chips instead. Also very yummy. The BF gave me some of his fish and I gave him some of my chicken. After lunch we took pics and stuck our feet in the ocean water, except the BF who was wearing sneakers. We walked back to their car and said our goodbyes. It was a quick but very nice visit. We walked back to the hotel and nommed away on our Fractured Prune Donuts. The BF seemed to be very ready to go home and tired of vacation, me, I could have stayed for another week. I felt bummed to sit around the hotel room so eventually we went for one last walk along the boardwalk and part of Rehoboth Ave. The BF got some ice cream that he wasn't thrilled with (not from the Ice Cream Store this time because he wanted to avoid the lines). We went back to the hotel and started to pack.

Day 6: I was pretty sad to leave but hope to go back again someday soon. We packed our bags, made sure we didn't forget anything and loaded the rental car. I checked out and we drove down Rehoboth Ave one last time and headed home. We made a stop in Dover so we could eat at a Sonic Drive-in for the first time. The drive home was long and we didn't stop again until we got to Albany, NY. We drove to Latham and had dinner at Red Robin and slowly made our way home after hunting down a milkshake for the BF. A long drive but well worth it for such a great trip. I miss Rehoboth Beach and the ocean and hope to get back there again sometime soon.

Doing well...and ready for vacation

Things at the BF's are going well. We had a bad night or two because of him being upset when I voiced my views about buying a house and me being mad because he woke me up hours before I get up for work 2 days in a row. Now we both seem pretty happy. He assembled my desk and it is almost all set up. I still have to go get the rest of my desk supplies, my speakers and my printer and we are going shopping for a new desk chair tomorrow.

Then on Sunday we are leaving on vacation. We have family house-sitting so that is all set. I can't wait to head to the ocean for 5 days and 5 nights. The first day will mostly be driving to get there so I don't count that as the 6th day LOL It will be so nice to be away and relaxing for a whole week. I will be sure to share pics from our trip to Rehoboth Beach as we will have a wifi connection where we are staying.

BE Nirvana Update

Well, it looks like I am well over 50 eye colors with no repeats so far. I don't have the checklist with me at work so I am not sure of an exact number but I think I have hit the upper 50s. What I am more proud of, or just plain happy about, is that I actually don't want ANYTHING from the upcoming Q Show or Friends & Family sale. Not a thing even makes me think, I have to watch or order. I took a look at the website and most of the kits are things I already own or I own too many pieces to bother order. I would only want to order some individual colors and don't feel like doing that. As for the Q, the new items list doesn't really tempt me aside from the Natural Lip set. I already own the Sincerely's and I got the Sea Yourself kit ahead of time so I am all set and can just focus on my nirvana and going on vacation next week. Pin It StumbleUpon

All natural gum...GLEE

I was going to buy what I thought was the last known mainstream gum that did not have artificial sweeteners in it, Big Red, when my boyfriend grabbed the packaging out of my hand and read the ingredients. Not only have they changed the packaging, they have changed the ingredients. Boooo to this. We do not do artificial sweeteners. He grabbed some Dentyne stating that though it was sugar free, it did not have the worst sugar substitute in it and I pouted my way to the registers.

Today, I decided to enjoy the weather and took a walk from work to Four Seasons Natural Foods. I love to browse there and figured it was time to look for some all natural gum. After doing a lap of the store, perusing the shelves for natural skin care, teas, vegan cookies and snacks...I found it. Hooray! All natural gum. Glee Gum! I picked up a pack of peppermint and a pack of triple berry to try. I figure if I like it, I can go back for more. Well, the verdict is in and I like it. They come in cute little boxes and are reminiscent of Chiclets but all natural with a variety of flavors.

I am not affiliated with Glee gum. Pin It StumbleUpon

My faves from Burt's Bees

Since switching to all natural skincare products, I have tried quite a few things and my favorites seem to be Burt's Bees, Aveda (mostly natural) and 100% Pure. Today I will rave about my fave Burt's Bees items.

Most people know of Burt's Bees for their fabulous lip balm, but they also have tinted lip shimmers which are fantastic. Imagine their lip balm with a hint of color. They feel great on, look great and leave your lips feeling soft. My favorite color is cocoa but I also really love the new color, caramel and the older nutmeg shade.

Next, I am going to give my kudos to their Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream. I use this every night before bed. It is very gentle but cleanses with a slight tingle.

Every morning I use Burt's Bees Peach & Willowbark, Deep Pore Scrub. I find that this really preps my face for the day. Another gentle yet effective product.

Finally, I have to say that so far, my favorite body wash from Burt's Bees is by far, their Fabulously Fresh Peppermint & Rosemary Body Wash. A great refreshing scent to help you wake up in the morning. I am impressed with the suds considering that it is a natural product.

Moving in with the BF update

So far things are pretty good. We get on each other's nerves once in a while, but we did that before. The bedding ended up not being an issue. After days of searching, he asked me why I was looking for bedding because he had stuff that was Queen - King size...how nice of him to tell me this now? Saves me some money and worry so I am ok with it even though I would rather have bedding I really like.

I got a new desk to have at his place. We looked all over and though I liked one at Pier One better, this one at Target was the right price. I still need to assemble it. It was a great deal because the Target in Albany forgot to take the sale sign down from May so I got the old sale price which was $30 off. Now I just need a new desk chair, my mission for this coming weekend. The BF is making room for my desk by packing all of his CDs and some older video games. He is also packing in anticipation of moving out to a bigger place.

We have not found a place to move to but he is preparing anyway. He has his eyes on buying a house in Gloversville. I am less thrilled about the idea. I want something that is easier for me to get to from my work route and to stay in Gloversville I want it to be really nice so it is worth it to me. I do not want to live in Gloversville and have been saving money to move to the Saratoga area for almost a year now. I would rather use that money for what I intended, not to put a down payment on a house I don't really want to live in. We will see what happens.

I have to buy a new metal bed frame for the new bed I bought. The frames we both have do not have the center bar. The bedding is taken care of. I got us nice sheets on clearance at Target and he has the blankets and comforters. This week we are probably going to get me put on the cable bill as I will be paying that for now. BE Nirvana Update

46 eye colors so far, no repeats. So far so good with my BE Nirvana (diet).

I am feeling much better about my collection and have regained my excitement and passion for wearing different color combos. I am making notes when I wear a color that is one I know I don't like as much. I have my stack of ES Blushes ready for swap/sell as well as some other extras. I am still living with the BF though most of my stuff is at my parents' house. I go back and forth to pick up new colors and drop off the ones I have worn and am living out of a glamourista train case and another small bag. Tonight I set up a small area on top of one of the BFs dressers with a cosmetic mirror and the mirrored box from a kit. I have some of my artsy jewelry in the box but will use the mirror for make up application. I put my traincase and my perfume there with it. I said, I hope it is ok I took that over, he said you already asked and I said, well I didn't bring all my super girly things like my purple framed mirror and he just said not yet. I think he secretly likes it LOL Pin It StumbleUpon

Saratoga Peanut Butter Company

Absolutely the best peanut butter I have ever eaten...Saratoga Peanut Butter Company. If I ever leave this area I will have to order it by the case or buy a full supply when I visit family. I discovered their peanut butter when searching for a natural peanut butter that was not made with soy.

They use healthy fresh ingredients and even sell organic versions. I am a Plain Jane Creamy Organic girl myself but they also have Plain Jane Chunky. For those who love to mix things with their peanut butter, they also have flavors like Blizzard Butter (white chocolate), Chillin Chocolate (dark chocolate), NY Maple, Monkey Boy, Adirondack Jack, and they also sell Almond Butter. They have even been spotlighted in Everyday with Rachael Ray. This peanut butter is so good, I may just venture beyond my Plain Jane and try some of their flavors. Pin It StumbleUpon

Juicy Burgers & More - Saratoga/Ballston Spa

The billboard on route 29 is now covered with an insurance ad, but I thank that billboard for introducing me to Juicy Burgers and more. I finally ventured over there with my boyfriend for lunch one day and the burgers were delicious. He actually said it was well worth it and he never says that about much of anything.

I highly recommend them if you love a good burger. If you don't love a good burger or your eating companions don't love burgers, feel free to ask for a substitute of chicken or order one of their many salads.

You can even place your order in advance online and have it ready when you pick it up. How far in advance...up to 2 weeks!

You can find them at:
Milton Center Plaza
15 Trieble Avenue
Ballston, NY 12020

And Coming Soon:

Settling In...

Still looking forward to finding a bigger place to be "ours" instead of staying at his place. I miss having some space of my own but things are pretty good. I slept much better last night with the window closed. I am still not sure what to do about sleep since we have conflicting sleep routines. I stay up later, as I work later. I also like to have relaxing music playing when I go to sleep, he hates it. I think this is part of why it has been harder for me to fall asleep here. The possible solution I found today in Health Magazine...SleepPhones!

These are exactly what I was thinking I needed, I just didn't know what they were. I kept trying to figure out how I could wear headphones to bed. I can't wear most earbuds because they are made with silicone. I think I would get annoyed or hurt myself on headphones or earbuds while I slept. Then I was flipping through my Health magazine and saw these in a sleep article. I may just have to order these, they sound perfect. Just to top it off, they are on twitter and if you tweet about their website, they will send you a coupon code. Pin It StumbleUpon
