Bare Minerals Sugar Rush Hydrating Eyecolor Collection

I am not affiliated with this company. I purchased this collection myself. My opinion is completely honest no matter how I receive any items mentioned on this blog.

My birthday shopping mostly took place in April though my bday is in early May.  One thing I bought was the Bare Minerals Sugar Rush Hydrating Eyecolor Collection from QVC.  It was a special event price during the shows aired on a particular day.  I always love new loose mineral shadows.

These shadows do have a different texture than the usual Bare Minerals eyeshadows.  They are less loose and creamy feeling but feel nice on.  The colors are much prettier on than I expected too.  Every time I wear these, I catch myself noticing my eyes in the mirror. I find that they work well with both natural primers I use.  They are a little harder to blend than traditional mineral shadows but not bad.  I am still able to get really pretty soft eye looks with these.  Vanilla Shake is my surprise favorite in the group because it makes for an excellent highlighter shade.  I like to apply it lash to brow and then when you apply colors on your crease, V and outer 1/3-1/2 of your lid, it gives a real pop to your inner eye.

This is a 6-piece set that includes a bag and 5 full size eyeshadows.  It retails for $38.26 on qvc.com

Top: Vanilla Shake, Berry Chill, Peach Sorbet. Bottom: Lemon Freeze, Iced Caramel

Acure Organics Exfoliating Mint Body Wash

I am not affiliated with this company. These items were sent to me for review purposes only. My opinion is completely honest no matter how I receive any items mentioned on this blog.

My shower has been full of Acure Organics products lately.  This time I am testing and reviewing Acure Organics Exfoliating Mint Body Wash.  This is another body wash full of fabulous ingredients that really lathers well and makes your skin feel great.  I love to feel clean but I also love it when my skin doesn't feel striped of moisture after I shower.  My boyfriend has even commented about how soft and smooth my skin feels.

The scent isn't as minty as you would expect and I assume it is the addition of lilac that changes it.  It almost smells like eucalyptus to me?  If you aren't a big fan of mint, you will probably like this.  Also, the mint is more gentle than some other mint body washes and it also doesn't have that strong cooling sensation that you normally need to keep away from delicate areas.

This retails for $9.99.  You can find it at Acure Organics website or look for store locations that sell their products on their website.

Info from the Acure Organics Website:
Don’t get bummed by body breakouts! Keep those blemishes and dark spots at bay with this energizing, exfoliating body wash. Lilac stem cells are shown to help reduce breakouts and imperfections, while sea buckthorn, CoQ10, and Argan Oil help keep your skin soft and ultra-hydrated.

Pacifica Color Quench Lip Tint in Sugared Fig

I am an affiliate of this company. I purchased this product myself. My opinion is completely honest no matter how I receive any items mentioned on this blog.

Another great Target shopping find was Pacifica's Color Quench Lip Tint in Sugared Fig.  This color screams me so I had to pick it up.  It is beautifully packaged and easy to carry in your bag.  This is more like a tinted lip balm than a lipstick.  It feels really moist and soft on your lips, the color is pretty but not overstated or longlasting and the smell is fabulous, which is what I would expect from Pacfica.  Your lips get just enough color to give you some oomph without a full makeup look or this is a great compliment if you want to do dramatic eyes with a softer lip.

I am a lippie addict, what can I say?  This retails for $7. You can find it online or check your local Target. I have 2 of these in different shades so far and will probably buy more.  The price is right and the temptation in Target cannot be resisted LOL It is like the candy by the cash register for me.

Acure Organics Sensitive Unscented Body Wash

I am not affiliated with this company. This item was sent to me for review purposes only. My opinion is completely honest no matter how I receive any items mentioned on this blog.

What can I say, Acure Organics wanted me to try out a lot of their products and I am not complaining.  I got to test out their Sensitive Unscented Body Wash.  This is really gentle for all types of skin and very moisturizing.  It is unscented but it does have a mild scent from the natural ingredients.  It smells a lot like the other Sensitive line products that I tried, the facial cream & cleanser.

I am pretty sure my boyfriend has even been grabbing and testing out the Sensitive line.  I am not sure if the packaging just seems more boy friendly or what.  I am going to go ahead and rate this line gender neutral.  Not too froufrou, not too masculine, just right!

It lathers really nicely and applies smooth to your skin.  You will feel fresh, clean and soft after you use it.  This body wash is full of good for you natural ingredients.  It is gluten free, vegan, free of silicones, pthlalates, synthetic fragrance, and parabens.  It also contains fair trade certified ingredients.  This product is natural, good for you, and good for the earth.  Best part is, it retails for only $9.99.

Label Lessons: Your Guide to a Healthy Shopping Cart - Free e-book from Naturally Savvy

I am in the Naturally Savvy blogger program. This item is available for free so I downloaded it free on my personal computer.  My opinion is completely honest no matter how I receive any items mentioned on this blog.

image from Naturally Savvy's website
Naturally Savvy has a new e-book and the good news is that it is free! It is called Label Lessons: Your Guide to a Healthy Shopping Cart.  You can download it online now to get great info on how to read labels.

This free e-book helps explain how to read labels for food as well as supplements and personal care items.  They also provide side by side comparisons of a good choice and a not so good choice for a particular type of item so you know what to look for.

The most important pages, if you just flip through, in my opinion are pages 8-9 where they list the worst ingredients to look out for.  Browse that list and get an idea of what to look out for when you read labels in the store.

Get the book here: http://www.naturallysavvy.com/labellessons/

Please download the e-book and share it! Not only is it a great resource, it is also a great cause (see below).

Note from Naturally Savvy: Naturally Savvy will donate $1.00 for every share of the e-book via the link above to the Holistic Moms Network. The e-book also provides downloadable coupons for all the healthy products featured, and you will have the chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree at the natural products store of your choice. Both the coupons and the donation close on June 22, 2013.

Acure Organics Facial Marula Oil

I am not affiliated with this company. These items were sent to me for review purposes only. My opinion is completely honest no matter how I receive any items mentioned on this blog.

Another product that I have been testing is Facial Marula Oil from Acure Organics.  Now that I am on the moisturizing oil bandwagon, I am happy to try all varieties that come from good sources.

Marula comes from the nuts of a marula tree.  The Acure Organics Facial Marula Oil is unrefined and coldpressed.  Their marula project also helps the women in South Africa that harvest and process for the oil. Yet another product that is paraben free, vegan, free of synthetic fragrance, silicones and pthalates and is also gluten free.

I have been applying this product to my face and neck at night.  Sometimes on a bare face and sometimes over my moisturizer.  I wanted to see how it worked both ways.  This oil is supposed to help balance and heal your skin.  It also is said to reduce redness and help with scars and stretch marks.  Not only that but you can use it on split ends and dry cuticles.

I personally noticed how soft my face feels in the morning.  The oil smells a bit nutty so that is really the only thing that is hard to get used to, especially for my boyfriend LOL  My skin not only feels soft but it looks lovely.  I can tell it has been hydrated overnight while I slept.  I definitely need this in my T-zone.  My skin is combo so I get some oiliness but also need hydration.  When a product makes me pet my skin to enjoy how soft it feels, it get my vote of approval! It is also good for you, good for the environment and good for the women who work hard to harvest the product so I think that is a win-win.  The packaging and bottle are also beautiful.  This oil retails for $15.99.

Info from the Acure Organics Website:
Our Marula is 100% pure, wildcrafted without pesticides, cold pressed and unrefined (like us). The Marula project provides economic empowerment to the South African women who harvest and process the oil.
